Outdoor Walking Tour

This tour covers the human ecology of the Walking Box Ranch.  The Southern Paiute were the first people to live in this area.  The ranching era of southern Nevada followed the land loss of the Paiute.  Today, the Walking Box Ranch is an Area of Critical Environmental Concern.  These different land uses demonstrate the changing nature of land use.

This tour will include a nature walk that shines a light on Indigenous land use, the historic ranching era, and the environmental protection era of the Walking Box Ranch.
